Moonshot AI's founders in talks to settle a shareholder dispute before a Hong Kong IPO

The lab behind the Kimi models heads for a listing with claims against its founders still open. Talks only; nothing is settled.

Reuters reports that Moonshot AI's chief executive Yang Zhilin and chief technology officer Zhang Yutao are in talks to settle claims by Recurrent.ai and some of its investors. Those investors accuse them of false representations and of enriching themselves.

No settlement has been reached, and these are claims, not findings. The talks are private, so there is no primary source; treat this as a report.

Why it matters

Moonshot is one of China's leading open-model labs and is preparing to list in Hong Kong. Before the public gets to buy in, the people who already did want their say first. It's a governance question worth weighing next to the benchmarks.
