Go.ai raises $85m to sell banks ai they can own and audit

Regulated institutions are paying for ai appliances that sit on their own premises, where examiners can inspect them.

Chicago-based Go.ai has closed an $85 million Series A, taking its total funding to $90 million. Updata Partners led the round, with GFT Ventures and LAUNCH.

Go.ai sells on-premises ai hardware appliances, running its Go.OS software, to regulated industries such as banking and healthcare, built so examiners can inspect them. The money will go on engineering staff, the software and hardware line, and expansion to other compliance-minded organisations. Co-founder and chief executive David Moscatelli runs a team of about 50.

Why it matters

This is real money betting that careful, regulated buyers want ai they physically own and can audit, instead of renting intelligence from someone else's cloud. It's the enterprise version of owning your own ai.
