DeepSeek reported to lead a seed round for robot-ai lab Winverse ai

It would be DeepSeek's first visible bet on robotics as a funder. Reported by Bloomberg's sources; the deal is not final.

Bloomberg reported on Monday 12 October, citing people it didn't name, that DeepSeek has agreed to lead a seed round of "tens of millions of dollars" in Winverse ai, at a post-money valuation of about $400 million. Meituan's Long-Z is also committed. Winverse ai was founded this year in Hangzhou by Hu Han, who previously worked on Tencent's vision-language and embodied-ai teams.

The deal is not final, and there is no company announcement or filing yet; treat this as a report.

Why it matters: it would be DeepSeek's first visible bet on robotics as a funder.
