Odyssey-3: one world model for robot arms, humanoids, cars and drones

It drove a car on real Indian roads after about 20 hours of simulated training. Every benchmark is self-reported.

Odyssey has released a research preview of Odyssey-3, a world model it pitches as the base layer for all kinds of physical machines.

  • Benchmark: Odyssey-3 Pro scored 66.1 on Physics-IQ Verified, which Odyssey says is the top reported score.
  • Robots: robot arms recovered from missed grasps after tens of hours of demonstrations, and Flexion's humanoid controls held up under lighting changes that broke the comparison models.
  • Car: it drove on real roads in India using a policy trained on about 20 hours of simulated driving.
  • Also: drones, and the video game GTA V.

All the benchmarks are Odyssey's own. The company raised $310 million at a $1.45 billion valuation in June.

Why it matters

One model being sold as the foundation for every kind of robot and vehicle is a big claim. It's worth watching whether independent tests back it up.
