DYNA Robotics has launched DYNA 2.1, a semi-humanoid robot with an upper torso, two arms fitted with grippers or dexterous hands, and four steerable wheels. The company says it can run an entire physical workflow without human intervention. Its demonstration is a full commercial laundry shift, start to finish.
The robot runs on DYNA's own world-action model, DYNA 2, which the company says was trained on about a million hours of human and robot data. A vision-language orchestrator sits on top of a whole-body controller.
DYNA was founded by Lindon Gao and York Yang, who sold Caper AI for $350 million, with former DeepMind research scientist Jason Ma. It is backed by CRV and First Round, and Business Insider lists Nvidia among its investors.
Why it matters
Most robot demos are short manipulation clips. "Complete a whole shift unattended" is a much bigger claim, and the claim comes from the company's own release. If it holds up in real deployments, it is a milestone for robots working on human time.
