Instinct, a startup building personal ai agents, has raised a $1 billion Series C at a $10 billion valuation, with Sequoia, Benchmark and Coatue. Last month it had reportedly been targeting a valuation of about $2.5 billion. The round was announced on 28 September, the same day as AMD's World Labs deal and Nvidia's agent safety launch, and drew less coverage than either.
Why it matters
Consumer agents are where the biggest headline cheques are going. Set against the same day's edge-chip and defence rounds, it shows two quite different bets on where ai goes next.
