WhisperDark: a game where an ai agent spends real crypto on its own

In a browser dungeon crawler, the player only whispers hints. The agent decides what to buy, and pays with real money.

On 22 September, Neo Global Development and COZ launched WhisperDark, a browser dungeon crawler on the Neo X blockchain. An ai agent moves through the rooms and spends real xGAS cryptocurrency on weapons, armour and medical supplies through micropayments. Combat is settled by hidden dice rolls.

The player only offers directional "whispers": Confidence, Unease or Dread. The agent makes the decisions. It runs on Ax402, AxLabs' payment gateway for ai agents, and a prize pool of about 303 GAS runs until 26 October.

Why it matters

It's framed as a game, but it's a working example of an agent holding and spending real money without a person approving each step. That is exactly the pattern payment and safety people worry about.
